Decades of Healthcare Experience
David B. Vliet brings three decades of healthcare experience to your organization.
He currently serves as "Executive in Residence" for multiple organizations.

Leadership Roles
He has lead three community health centers in Texas and California. Most recently he was the Chief Executive Officer of LifeLong Medical Care, one of the largest community-based federally qualified health centers in California.
He is a CEO Emeritus for the organization.
He has a strong background in sub-specialty pediatrics having worked for the prestigious Nemours Children's Clinic, Orlando.

International Mobile Clinic Outreach
Recently retiring from 20 years of CEO leadership, he and his wife are laying the groundwork for a non-profit mobile clinic outreach and global health training institute in Guatemala, Central America.
"Mobile Health Strategies: Guatemala" will reach communities using mobile medical units while the training institute will equip providers to support projects needing clinical support throughout Latin America.

Diverse Experience
He has experience in executive management, strategy, leadership of community health centers, community-based organizations, primary and specialty clinics, large group medical practices, technology, banking and community-based lending, and investing. He loves people and wants them to prosper.

Community Leader
A founding member of Advocates for Community Health (ACH), he is a recognized leader in expanding healthcare access and the reach of community health centers as safety net providers. He is an avid collaborator, teacher, and innovator with a keen interest in leadership development, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), and workforce development.

Personal Interests
David loves and performs jazz and blues and is a church musician. "Music heals" he likes to say.
He is well traveled in Latin America and while not a native speaker, speaks fluent Spanish.

Non-Profit Board Governance and Management
David has served on many non-profit boards and brings deep knowledge in non-profit governance and management. His current board roles include an adoption and children's services agency, and a center for performing arts, among others.
Education
David holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Administration (BHA) from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Entrepreneurship from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

After a distinguished 30-year career advocating for underserved communities, David B. Vliet is retiring from his leadership roles. As a founding member of Advocates for Community Health, he has been a passionate voice for expanding healthcare access and empowering community health centers.
David's legacy includes guiding three community health centers in Texas and California, serving as CEO of LifeLong Medical Care, and launching a non-profit mobile clinic outreach in Guatemala. His diverse experience and collaborative spirit have made him a respected leader in the healthcare community.
He is a CEO Emeritus/Advisor to LifeLong Medical Care, retiring August 5, 2024.
